Gay-la or Gal-a? How do you pronounce this special social occasion? I find myself switching back and forth between the two pronunciations. However, I don’t waiver from dragging my husband to these fun events! We have two galas in the next 7 days which has left me tirelessly hunting down the perfect dresses. If you are on the hunt for a gala dress like I have been, here are a few different options for you!
Find a dress like this one that Lyra got for a gala we are both attending this weekend. It is nice but not over the top. You can totally dress it up with fun shoes and some big jewels. By choosing a dress like this, you up your chances of being able to wear it again.
I snagged this dress for an upcoming black tie gala on March 1st. They encourage everyone to wear blue for this event. I however don’t love how I look in blue. So I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on a dress I would probably never wear again. I’m loving the Morgan and Co. brand that’s available at Nordstrom. It’s great quality and it’s at a very affordable price point. This dress runs true to size and will be perfect for my upcoming event!
Option 3 splurge:
When you know, you know! And sometimes girl you just gotta splurge and GET THE DRESS. Some of our favorite dress brands to spend a little more on are: Ted Baker, Nicole Miller, and Monique Lhuillier. These brands are available at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and some styles are also available on Amazon.
Option 4 rent:
Rent the Runway is a game changer. For the gala this weekend I wanted to look awesome and stylish. A lot of my fancy friends will be there and with all the extras and hotel after party, this is sure to be a wild night. This is definitely an event were I’m dressing more to impress my friends, than my husband. Y’all know exactly what I’m talking about! I wanted an awesome dress but again, didn’t want to pay $500+ for a dress that I was sure I’d wear only once or twice. Here is the dress I most recently rented.
This will be my third time using Rent the Runway and I absolutely love the whole experience. I had a friend beg me for a couple years to give them a try but I could never get behind the idea. After my 1st dress was a total success (pictured above) I’ve totally done a 180. Their customer service is top notch.
I have so many dresses in my closet that I spent a pretty penny on that I know I will never wear again. This way I get to try new styles, rent a super fancy dress I would never want to pay full price for, and then send back and do it all over again!
Happy dress shopping!
